December 22 — He Is Hearing Us (1 John 5:15)

1 John 5:15: “And if we are knowing that He is hearing us, whatever we are asking, we are knowing that we are having the requests which we have asked from Him.”

Verse 15: “And if we are knowing that He is hearing us, whatever we are asking, we are knowing that we are having the requests which we have asked from Him.”

What a joy to know the Lord is hearing us when we pray!

Exodus 22:23: “If thou afflict them in any way and they cry unto Me, I will surely hear their cry.”

Psalm 34:15: “The eyes of the Lord are on the righteous and His ears are attentive to their cry.”

Jeremiah 32:27: “I am the Lord, the God of all mankind. Is anything too hard for Me?”

Jeremiah 33:3: “Call to me and I will answer you and tell you great and unsearchable things you do not know.”

The real problem in unanswered prayer comes when our thoughts are not His thoughts and our ways are not His ways.

James 4:3: “You ask and do not receive, because you ask with wrong motives, so that you may spend it on your pleasures.”

Let’s worship and praise the Lord this morning that He is such a caring God. Let’s sing together verses 3 and 4 of “Does Jesus Care?”: “Does Jesus care when I’ve tried and failed To resist some temptation strong; When for my deep grief there is no relief, Though my tears flow all the night long? Does Jesus care when I’ve said goodby To the dearest on earth to me, And my sad heart aches till it nearly breaks, Is it aught to Him? Does He see? Oh yes, He cares; I know He cares, His heart is touched with my grief; When the days are weary, the long nights dreary, I know my Savior cares.”
