The word for today is judgment.
“Will not the Judge of all the earth do right?” (Gen. 18:25b).
“Because He has fixed a day in which He will judge the world in righteousness through a Man whom He has appointed, having furnished proof to all men by raising Him from the dead” (Acts 17:31).
“Be happy, young man, while you are young, and let your heart give you joy in the days of your youth. Follow the ways of your heart and whatever your eyes see, but know that for all these things God will bring you to judgment” (Eccles. 11:9).
“On the day when, according to my gospel, God will judge the secrets of men through Christ Jesus” (Rom. 2:16).
“How much severer punishment do you think he will deserve who has trampled under foot the Son of God, and has regarded as unclean the blood of the covenant by which he was sanctified, and has insulted the Spirit of grace?” (Heb. 10:29).
“For we must all appear before the judgment seat of Christ, that each one may be recompensed for his deeds in the body, according to what he has done, whether good or bad” (2 Cor. 5:10).
“Dealing out retribution to those who do not know God and to those who do not obey the gospel of our Lord Jesus. And these will pay the penalty of eternal destruction, away from the presence of the Lord and from the glory of His power” (2 Thess. 1:8-9).
“On Him almighty vengeance fell that would have sunk a world to hell. He bore it for a chosen race and thus becomes my hiding place.” Prayer: Lord, what comfort it is to know that Jesus was crushed for our iniquities; the punishment that brought us peace was upon Him. Hallelujah for the cross!
