About Us

A quick rundown on the history (and future) of Bible Teaching Resources.

Formed in 1972 as a non-profit organization, Bible Teaching Resources is dedicated to excellence in Bible exposition and the provision of tools for teaching the Word.

A Man on Mission

“Few have been more helpful to so many over the years than Don Anderson as he has translated the Bible into practical rules for living… with heart and a head of solid advice.”Howard G. Hendricks, Author and Educator, Dallas Theological Seminary

DON ANDERSON was a popular guest speaker at churches, para-church organizations, conferences, and retreats. His refreshing style and unique insights effectively communicated timeless truths from Scripture and their application to everyday life through his published books, devotionals, audio and video broadcasts.

Don received a Bachelor of Arts from University of Northwestern – St. Paul and a Masters of Theology from Dallas Theological Seminary. In June 1990, he earned a Doctorate of Ministry in Marriage and Family Counseling from Talbot School of Theology in Southern California.

Don was involved in ministry for over 50 years. His passion for Bible teaching led him to create Don Anderson Ministries, which celebrated 45 years of ministry in 2016. In 2004, the organization’s name was changed to Bible Teaching Resources and is currently headquartered in Tyler, TX.

Don passed away on July 27, 2016, but his legacy and mission lives on.  To watch the celebration of Don’s life simply click here.

We Believe

We believe in the verbal, plenary inspiration of the Old and New Testaments and hold them to be the inerrant Word of God.

We believe in one God, eternally existing in three persons: Father, Son, and Holy Spirit.

We believe that Jesus Christ was begotten by the Holy Spirit and born of a virgin and is true God and true man.

We believe that man was created in the image of God, that he sinned and thereby incurred not only physical death, but also spiritual death, which is separation from God; and that all human beings are born with a sinful nature and, in the case of those who reach moral responsibility, become sinners in thought, word, and deed.

We believe that the Lord Jesus died for our sins according to the scriptures as a representative, substitutionary, and complete sacrifice, and that all who believe in Him are justified on the ground of His shed blood.

We believe in the resurrection of the crucified body of our Lord, in His ascension into heaven, and in His present life there for us, as high priest and advocate.

We believe in the imminent coming of Christ for His church and the visible and personal coming of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ to establish His worldwide kingdom on the earth.

We believe that all who receive by faith the Lord Jesus Christ are born again of the Holy Spirit and thereby become children of God.

We believe in the bodily resurrection of the just and unjust.

We believe in the great commission which our Lord has given to His church to evangelize the world, and that this evangelism is the great mission of the Church. Furthermore, we exhort the people of God everywhere to stand by these great truths and to contend earnestly for the faith, which our God has in His Holy Word delivered unto the saints.

The Preservation Project

The Disciples, a group of couples Don personally discipled to carry on the work of the ministry, will continue in the future and work with the Board. Scott Borgman, Disciple member, describes their vision…

Immediately following Don’s memorial service, we sat in the offices of BTR for the reception and shared what God had done through this ministry. As a group of disciples, we discussed how to carry on the ministry. Kervin Campbell was quick to point out the mission statement inscribed on a wooden plaque behind Don’s desk: “To glorify God with a national ministry which will continue to change lives based on the belief that ‘Christ is all and in all.’” With the materials and tools God gave to us through Don and Pearl, we are able to continue to carry out that mission. Colossians 3:11 clearly states, “Here there is no Greek or Jew, circumcised or uncircumcised, barbarian, Scythian, slave or free, but Christ is all, and is in all.” Our nation needs to hear this more than ever. Through God’s promises, we can share the hope we have through Christ. As disciples whom Don and Pearl have poured so much into over the past few years, we desire and commit to moving the ministry of Bible Teaching Resources into the future.
